According to officials, the meeting assessed arrangements required for the rollout and functioning of the NeVA platform, which is intended to facilitate digital and paperless legislative proceedings.

Discussions focused on technical readiness, digitisation and processing of legislative business, system integration and coordination among departments and other stakeholders involved in the implementation process.

Sethi reviewed progress on various components of the initiative and directed officials to complete all technological, administrative and procedural requirements before the commencement of the Autumn Session.

He said the implementation of NeVA would enable digital handling of legislative documents and business, reduce reliance on physical paperwork and improve communication and coordination between the Legislative Assembly, legislators and government departments.

The Commissioner Secretary also called for close coordination among stakeholders and directed officers to complete pending technical and procedural tasks within the prescribed timelines to ensure smooth functioning of the digital platform during the session.
