SRINAGAR: Several parts of Jammu and Kashmir received rainfall on Wednesday as the Meteorological Centre forecast further intermittent showers and thundershowers in parts of the Union Territory.
According to reports, rainfall was recorded in Pahalgam, Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama, Bandipora and parts of Budgam and Kupwara in Kashmir, while several areas of the Jammu division also witnessed showers.
The Meteorological Department has forecast generally hot and humid weather, with light to moderate rain and thundershowers likely at several places. It has also warned of brief spells of intense rainfall at isolated locations, which could trigger flash floods, mudslides and landslides in vulnerable areas.
The latest weather outlook indicates a gradual decrease in rainfall activity from Wednesday onwards, with generally drier conditions expected across Jammu and Kashmir up to September 10.
However, isolated to scattered showers may continue in some areas during the period, the department said.
