Ganderbal admin reviews preparations for Census 2027 in snow-bound areas

Ganderbal: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Jatin Kishore on Monday reviewed preparations for Census 2027 in the district’s snow-bound areas and directed officials to ensure timely coverage of all households during the enumeration process.

Chairing a meeting of census functionaries, Kishore, who is also the Principal Census Officer for the district, asked charge officers to complete the appointment and training of enumerators before the commencement of fieldwork.

He directed officials to ensure that enumerators are trained in census procedures and the use of the designated mobile application, and that the devices used for data collection meet prescribed specifications.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for accurate and complete data collection, directing field staff to avoid omissions, duplication and errors while covering every household in the identified snow-bound areas.

He also called for regular monitoring of field activities, prompt resolution of technical issues and close coordination between charge officers and the District Census Cell to ensure the exercise is completed within the prescribed timeline.

The meeting was attended by senior district officials, charge officers and members of the District Census Cell.
