BANDIPORA: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday inaugurated a knockout cricket tournament at Habba Khatoon Stadium in Dawar, Gurez, under its Civic Action Programme (CAP).
The tournament was formally inaugurated by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Gurez and the Station House Officer (SHO) Gurez.
A total of 16 teams are participating in the event, which aims to provide local youth with a platform to showcase their sporting talent and engage in constructive recreational activities.
Police officials said the tournament is intended to promote sportsmanship, discipline and teamwork among young people while strengthening community engagement in the area.
Speaking on the occasion, the officers highlighted the role of sports in encouraging positive participation among youth and fostering healthy competition and camaraderie.
