SRINAGAR: The player bidding process for Season 2 of the Kashmir Super League was conducted on Wednesday, with six franchise teams finalising their squads for the upcoming football tournament.
Around 200 footballers participated in the bidding process, during which the franchises selected players to complete their rosters ahead of the new season.
The event was attended by franchise owners, team representatives, coaches, players and league officials.
The six participating teams — United Elegant FC, Sanctorum United, Aqua Kashmir Avengers FC, Swift Strikers Rainawari FC, Athwas India XI FC and New JK United FC — have now completed squad formation and are set to begin preparations for the competition.
League organisers said the bidding process provided local footballers with an opportunity to secure places in franchise teams and compete in a structured tournament.
The second edition of the league will be held at the TRC Ground in Srinagar, where the six teams will compete for the title.
Organisers said the tournament aims to build on the response received during the inaugural season and further promote competitive football in Jammu and Kashmir.
