New Delhi: South Delhi Superstarz recorded a five-wicket victory over New Delhi Tigers in the Delhi Premier League, chasing down a target of 169 with more than an over to spare.
New Delhi Tigers scored 168 for nine batting first, with Lakshay Thareja top scoring with 62 off 47 balls with two fours and four sixes while holding their innings together.
Naman Tiwari contributed a vital quickfire 10 off two balls and Revaan Rakhyan making 17 off six to bolster their total further. Ankit Dabas took 2/16 in his four overs.
In their reply, South Delhi Superstarz made a steady start. Anmol Sharma continued his rich vein of form, making 55 off 44 balls with the help of five hits to the fence and three over it.
While there was a little stutter from the South Delhi Superstarz’s middle order, they were rescued by Ekansh Dobal (38 not out) and Dabas. Dobal cracked four sixes and two fours to make an unbeaten 38 off only 18 balls, while Dabas clobbered three consecutive sixes in the 18th over to score 18 off five balls.
