Shopian: Police in Shopian on Monday organised a road race marathon at Zainapora under the Civic Action Programme to promote physical fitness, sportsmanship and a drug-free lifestyle among youth.
The race started from NIPS Zainapora, proceeded towards Police Station Zainapora and concluded at NIPS Zainapora. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from local youth and sports enthusiasts, who showcased their endurance and athletic abilities while promoting discipline, unity and healthy competition.
Police said the programme also aimed to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and substance addiction. Participants were encouraged to stay away from drugs and engage in healthy and constructive activities.
The top three finishers were awarded cash prizes and mementos in recognition of their performance, determination and sporting spirit.
