Kulgam: Minister for Education, Social Welfare, Health and Medical Education Sakeena Itoo on Saturday inaugurated a newly constructed AYUSH building for the Government AYUSH Dispensary at Khaloora in D.H. Pora area of Kulgam district.
Built at a cost of ₹30 lakh, the facility is aimed at strengthening AYUSH healthcare services and improving access to traditional systems of medicine for residents of Khaloora and adjoining areas.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the government was committed to strengthening primary healthcare infrastructure, particularly in rural areas, to ensure accessible and quality healthcare services for all.
She said the new facility would complement the existing healthcare network and help expand the reach of AYUSH-based treatment at the grassroots level.
During her visit, Itoo also addressed a public gathering and interacted with local residents, who raised various developmental and public service-related issues.
She assured the people that their genuine concerns would be examined on priority and appropriate action taken by the concerned departments.
Later, the minister distributed engagement letters among recently appointed Anganwadi helpers of Zone D.H. Pora under the ICDS (Poshan Abhiyaan).
Senior officials from the AYUSH Department, Health Department, Education Department and district administration were present on the occasion.
