KULGAM, Aug 16: The anniversary of Gurdwara Singh Sabha Bala Palpora at Mirbazar was observed in Kulgam district on Sunday, with members of the Sikh community and local residents participating in the religious celebrations.
Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Shahzad Alam and Mahant Manjeet Singh attended the programme and participated in the religious proceedings at the Gurdwara.
The Deputy Commissioner paid obeisance at the shrine and took part in the Bhajan Kirtan. He also interacted with members of the Sikh community and the Gurdwara management during the event.
According to officials, Alam listened to issues and concerns raised by members of the local Sikh community and assured them that their genuine grievances would be examined and addressed in accordance with established procedures.
Mahant Manjeet Singh also participated in the celebrations and extended greetings to the Sikh community on the occasion.
A large number of devotees and local residents attended the programme and offered prayers for peace, prosperity and communal harmony.
Chief Planning Officer Malik Suheel and other district officers were also present during the event.
