SRINAGAR: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar on Sunday organised a cleanliness drive at Astanmarg Harwan to promote sanitation, environmental awareness and responsible waste disposal practices.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Haq Nawaz Zargar, Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairman, DLSA Srinagar, who was present on the occasion. The Secretary, DLSA Srinagar, along with staff members, also participated in the drive.
Paralegal Volunteers (PLVs) of DLSA Srinagar cleaned the surrounding areas of Astanmarg and interacted with local residents to spread awareness about maintaining cleanliness and proper waste management.
Participants urged the public to avoid littering and use designated facilities for garbage disposal. They emphasised that maintaining cleanliness in public places requires active cooperation from all citizens.
According to officials, the drive was part of DLSA Srinagar’s ongoing efforts to encourage civic responsibility and environmental awareness among the public. The programme concluded with an appeal to residents to help keep Astanmarg and its surroundings clean and free from litter.
