DIPR officer Syed Shakeel Shan receives Award of Excellence on Independence Day

SRINAGAR: Syed Shakeel Andrabi, popularly known as Syed Shakeel Shan, Assistant Exhibition and Cultural Officer (AECO) in the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), was conferred with an Award of Excellence by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah during the 80th Independence Day celebrations at Bakhshi Stadium here.

The award was presented in recognition of Shan’s contributions to broadcasting, literature, culture and public communication.

A DIPR officer, Shan is also known for his work as a broadcaster, anchor, writer, poet, music composer and cultural activist. Through his association with public outreach and awareness programmes, he has been involved in communicating government initiatives and cultural activities to wider audiences.

The citation acknowledged his role in public communication and cultural promotion, as well as his contributions across various creative fields.

Reacting to the recognition, Shan expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and the administration for honouring his work. He also thanked Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg for his support and encouragement during his professional journey.

Shan said the award would motivate him to continue contributing to the fields of communication, culture and public outreach with greater dedication.

The recognition was welcomed by members of the literary, cultural and media fraternity, who congratulated him on the achievement and described it as an acknowledgement of his long-standing contribution to public communication and cultural activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
