JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case against Mohd Arif Mir, the then Patwari of Patwar Halqa Trigam in Kishtwar, over allegations of demanding and accepting illegal gratification in connection with issuance of a Fard.
The case, FIR No. 02/2026, has been registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended, at Police Station ACB Doda, according to the ACB.
The agency said the case followed a verification conducted by ACB DKR Jammu into a complaint alleging that Mir, a public servant, demanded ₹5 lakh from the complainant for issuing the Fard and allegedly accepted ₹3 lakh through a cheque, following which the document was issued.
During the investigation, the ACB obtained a search warrant from the court and conducted a search of Mir’s residential premises at Malipeth near Grid Station, Kishtwar, in the presence of a magistrate and independent witnesses.
The ACB said further investigation in the case is in progress.
