Chrar-i-Sharief: Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather on Monday reviewed developmental works in several areas of the Chrar-i-Sharief constituency and launched the macadamisation of link roads in Wanpora.
During his visit to Wanpora, Qazipora, Takiya Hayatpora and Sarie, Rather inspected ongoing development projects and interacted with residents to assess local infrastructure requirements.
The Speaker inaugurated the macadamisation of Wanpora link roads and directed officials to ensure quality standards during execution of the project.
He also inspected proposed sites for bridge construction and announced that a bridge on the Takiya Nagam–Hayatpora–Dalwan road would be taken up at a cost of ₹2 crore, while another bridge on the Wanpora–Sarie road would be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹80 lakh.
At Qazipora, residents raised issues related to roads, connectivity and other infrastructure needs. Rather assured them that their concerns would be taken up with the concerned departments and said the Mukhadam Mohalla and Dooninar link roads would be macadamised soon.
He directed the executing agencies to complete approved projects within stipulated timelines and maintain quality standards.
According to an official statement, the Speaker stressed the need for improved road connectivity and infrastructure in rural areas, saying these are essential for access to education, healthcare, markets and other public services.
He also directed the concerned departments to remain responsive to public grievances and work in coordination to improve civic amenities across the constituency.
