BARAMULLA: A man was injured after being attacked by a bear in the Behak-Natiyan area of Boniyar in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday, officials said.
The injured has been identified as Mohd Shareef Sheikh, a resident of Tirkanjan Kangdyal.
Officials said Army personnel reached the spot soon after the incident, provided first aid and evacuated the injured to the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Boniyar.
After initial treatment, doctors referred him to Government Medical College (GMC), Baramulla, for specialised treatment.
The incident has once again raised concerns over increasing incidents of human-wildlife conflict in the area. (GNS)
