Srinagar: Police have registered a case against a Delhi-based production house for allegedly operating a drone without obtaining the mandatory permission during a film shoot in Srinagar.
Official sources said the production company, T3S Entertainment Private Limited, allegedly flew the drone in violation of the restrictions imposed by the District Magistrate, Srinagar, and without securing the requisite clearance from the police and other competent authorities.
They said the drone was being used for aerial cinematography as part of a film shoot when a police team, during inspection, found it allegedly being operated in contravention of the standing orders regulating drone operations in Srinagar.
The Production Manager present at the location, according to sources, was found operating the drone at Nishat area without the permissions required under the prevailing guidelines governing the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
Following the alleged violation, Police Station Nishat registered FIR No. 60/2026 under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with disobedience of an order duly promulgated by a public servant. Further investigation into the case is underway.
Sources said the investigation has been set into motion to ascertain the circumstances leading to the alleged violation and to determine whether mandatory procedures prescribed for drone operations had been bypassed.
They said police are collecting relevant records, including documents pertaining to permissions and clearances, besides examining the role of the persons associated with the production company.
Authorities reiterated that the operation of drones in Srinagar and other sensitive areas is governed by strict security protocols, and prior permission from the competent authorities is mandatory before any aerial activity is undertaken.
