Srinagar: Authorities in Baramulla district on Thursday rescued a woman who was trapped inside her house following a cloudburst.
“Police in Baramulla, in coordination with the civil administration, successfully rescued a woman who became trapped inside her house following a cloudburst in the Mayan area of Lachipora, Bijhama,” a police spokesperson said.
He said the cloudburst triggered a sudden surge of water and debris in a local stream, resulting in flash flooding, which created panic among residents of the area.
Responding to the emergency, Tehsildar Boniyar, SDPO Uri, and Bijhama SHO, along with rescue teams, rushed to the spot and evacuated the trapped woman to safety.
