Officials briefed the meeting on the latest gauge readings, the status of the River Jhelum and its tributaries, and the mechanism in place for round-the-clock monitoring and dissemination of real-time information. The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed contingency measures being implemented by different departments.

He directed the Irrigation and Flood Control Department and other line departments to maintain continuous monitoring of gauge stations and vulnerable locations, closely track the evolving situation and ensure timely sharing of updates to facilitate prompt decision-making.

The Deputy Commissioner also instructed departments to strengthen identified vulnerable spots in advance and remain prepared for any emergency by mobilising manpower, machinery and other resources.

Emphasising coordinated preparedness, Labroo called for close coordination among the Revenue Department, Police, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Fire and Emergency Services and other agencies. He directed the departments to pre-position rescue teams, equipment and field staff, particularly in vulnerable areas, to ensure an effective response to any weather-related situation.
