BANDIPORA: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Indu Kanwal Chib on Wednesday appealed to people to stay away from water bodies in view of the prevailing weather conditions and rising water levels.
During a visit to Sonerwani, Bonar Nallah and adjoining areas, the Deputy Commissioner advised residents not to venture near rivers, streams and other water bodies and urged them to strictly follow safety advisories issued by the district administration and other agencies.
She also asked parents and guardians to ensure that children do not go near water bodies, stressing the need for extra vigilance during the current weather conditions.
Emphasising that public safety should remain the top priority, Chib urged people to remain alert and immediately report any emergency to the District Control Room on 7006526985 or 7006328689 for prompt assistance.
The Deputy Commissioner also sought public cooperation, urging residents to avoid unnecessary movement near water bodies until the weather situation improves.
