Bandipora: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Indu Kanwal Chib and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bandipora Ajaz Ahmad Zargar on Tuesday participated virtually in the Union Territory-level valedictory function of the 100-day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, presided over by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at the SKICC in Srinagar.
The event marked the culmination of the 100-day campaign launched across Jammu and Kashmir to promote awareness, prevention and community participation against drug abuse.
Speaking after the event, the Deputy Commissioner said the campaign had emerged as an effective platform for raising awareness and mobilising communities against substance abuse. She said sustained public awareness, active community participation and coordinated efforts by all stakeholders were essential to achieving the goal of a drug-free society.
Chib appreciated the contribution of government departments, police, educational institutions, Panchayati Raj Institutions, volunteers and civil society organisations in implementing the campaign across the district. She reiterated the district administration’s commitment to continuing coordinated efforts to sustain the momentum generated under the initiative.
At the conclusion of the programme, participants renewed their pledge to work collectively towards the goal of a drug-free Bandipora and contribute to the broader objective of a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir.
