Jammu: A three-day Hockey India state-level workshop on coaching and officiating concluded at the MA Stadium in Jammu on Monday.
Organised by Hockey Jammu and Kashmir from July 18 to 20, the workshop aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of coaches and technical officials in modern coaching methods and officiating standards.
Former J&K Sports Council member Rajeev Sharma attended the valedictory function as the chief guest. Among those present were Divisional Sports Officer Bashir Ahmed, Hockey Jammu and Kashmir secretary Tejinder Singh, MA Stadium manager Anil Kumar, KK Hakku Stadium manager Ajay Gupta and hockey coach Jagjeet Singh.
The coaching sessions were conducted by Hockey India’s High Performance Director Piyush Kumar Dubey, who trained participants in coaching techniques, theoretical concepts, video analysis and player development.
The officiating sessions were led by Hockey India expert Manish Gaur, who briefed participants on the latest International Hockey Federation (FIH) rules and regulations, with emphasis on recent updates and their practical implementation on the field.
Participants from various districts of Jammu and Kashmir attended the workshop, which focused on strengthening coaching and officiating standards to support the development of hockey in the Union Territory.
