Srinagar: Police on Saturday attached a double-storey residential house worth over Rs 1.2 crore belonging to an accused in a case under the NDPS Act in Srinagar, officials said.
The house, built on eight marlas of land and having an estimated market value of over Rs 1.20 crore, belongs to Zamin Makhdoomi, a resident of Sikh Bagh, Lal Bazar, a police spokesman said.
The action was taken during the investigation of an FIR registered at Police Station Lal Bazar under the NDPS Act, he said.
During the investigation, it was established that the property was liable for attachment under the provisions of Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, following which the competent legal process was initiated, the spokesman said.
The attachment proceedings were carried out peacefully in the presence of the Executive Magistrate, Eidgah, and in accordance with the due process of law, he added.
