GANDERBAL: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Jatin Kishore on Saturday inspected the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Transit Camp at Manigam to review arrangements for pilgrims and assess the functioning of essential services.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected medical facilities, interacted with patients and healthcare staff, and directed medical teams to remain prepared to provide prompt healthcare services to the pilgrims.
He also reviewed sanitation and cleanliness arrangements at the camp and instructed the concerned departments to maintain high standards of hygiene to ensure a clean and comfortable environment for the yatris.
The Deputy Commissioner visited various langars, interacted with pilgrims to obtain feedback on the facilities being provided, and stressed that the safety, comfort and well-being of the yatris should remain the priority of all departments.
He directed officers and frontline staff to extend all possible assistance to the pilgrims and emphasised the need for close coordination among line departments to ensure uninterrupted delivery of essential services and prompt redressal of issues at the camp.
The visit was attended by the Assistant Commissioner Revenue, who is also the nodal officer for the Manigam Transit Camp, the police in-charge of the transit camp, and officers from the R&B Department, KPDCL, Jal Shakti Department, Municipal Council Ganderbal, Information Department and other departments.
