Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar on Tuesday reviewed facilities for pilgrims undertaking the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra at the Chanderkote Yatra Camp in Ramban and lodgement centres and langar sites in Udhampur.
According to an official statement, the Divisional Commissioner was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa and Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan during the inspection.
At Chanderkote, Kumar reviewed arrangements related to food, sanitation, drinking water, power supply, healthcare and security. He also inspected food safety measures at langar sites and directed the concerned officers to ensure quality services for the pilgrims.
The Deputy Commissioner Ramban briefed the Divisional Commissioner on the arrangements made for the convenience, safety and welfare of the pilgrims.
In Udhampur, Kumar inspected lodgement centres and langar sites along the National Highway and reviewed accommodation, sanitation, drinking water, electricity, healthcare, security and other essential services.
He also interacted with pilgrims to obtain feedback on the arrangements. According to the statement, the pilgrims expressed satisfaction with the facilities and appreciated the services provided by the district administration.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the district administrations to ensure uninterrupted essential services at the lodgement centres and langar sites throughout the pilgrimage and stressed the need for cleanliness, prompt service delivery and coordination among stakeholder departments.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Prem Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramban Varunjeet Singh Charak, NHAI Project Director Shubham Yadav and officers from the civil administration, police and other departments were also present during the visit, the statement added.
