SRINAGAR: The Cultural Unit of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) on Thursday organised awareness programmes under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan (NMJKA) at Government High School Brane and Government High School Dalgate.
Students participated in speech competitions highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse on individuals, families and society, while stressing the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and staying away from substance abuse.
Speaking on the occasion, Cultural Officer Abdul Raqib Bhat and AECO Syed Shakeel Shan emphasised the role of parents in preventing drug abuse and urged them to closely monitor their children’s activities and remain vigilant, particularly in vulnerable areas.
The headmasters of both schools also advised students to stay away from drugs and focus on their education and overall development. They appreciated the Department of Information and Public Relations for organising the awareness programmes.
The programmes concluded with students and teachers taking a pledge to work collectively towards building a drug-free society.
