SRINAGAR: Baramulla Strikers booked their place in Qualifier 2 of the Kashmir Champions Football League (KCFL) 2026 with a convincing 4-2 victory over Anantnag Heroes in the Eliminator played here on Wednesday.

Organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, the tournament entered its knockout stage with Baramulla Strikers producing an impressive all-round display, combining attacking football with disciplined defending to keep their title hopes alive.

Midfielder Moosa Qureshi was named Man of the Match for his influential performance in the middle of the park. His creativity, composure and leadership played a key role in Baramulla’s victory.

The match was attended by Anuj Gupta, Co-founder and President of Sudeva Delhi FC, and Steve Harbour, Technical Mentor at Sudeva Delhi FC, who interacted with players during the half-time break and shared insights on grassroots football development, talent identification and creating sustainable pathways for young footballers.

Arjuna Awardee Krupali Patel Singh also attended the match, encouraging players and highlighting the importance of sporting excellence and dedication.

The Sports Council said the growing fan response reflects the success of the league in promoting football and providing a competitive platform for emerging talent across Jammu and Kashmir. It reiterated its commitment to strengthening grassroots football and organising quality competitions to raise the standard of the sport in the Union Territory.
