The convoy left Bhagwati Nagar in the early hours with senior officers travelling in the lead vehicle to inspect the yatra route and review preparedness.

At Chanderkote, Deputy Commissioner Ramban briefed the officials on arrangements for pilgrims during the convoy halt, including langar facilities, power and water supply, sanitation, accommodation and other essential services.

The convoy later proceeded to Lamber in Banihal, where the Divisional Commissioner inspected the final arrangements, including drinking water facilities and a medical room for pilgrims.

Officials said the dry run was conducted to assess convoy movement and ensure all logistical and security arrangements are in place before the commencement of the pilgrimage.

The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026 is scheduled to commence on July 2. Authorities have been conducting a series of inspections and review meetings in recent months to finalise preparations for the annual pilgrimage.
