Baramulla, June 29: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla S.F. Hamid and Director Employment and Mission Director, Mission YUVA, Harvinder Singh on Monday reviewed the implementation and progress of the Mission YUVA flagship employment scheme in the district.
The meeting, held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, assessed the status of the programme, progress achieved, challenges in implementation and measures to improve outreach and timely delivery of benefits to aspiring entrepreneurs.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed officials to explore greater employment opportunities in the apple sector under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative. He also asked officers to intensify awareness campaigns at the grassroots level so that more eligible youth are informed about the scheme and encouraged to avail its benefits.
Mission Director Harvinder Singh directed officials to closely monitor not only sanctioned and disbursed applications but also those that had been rejected. He asked them to identify the reasons for rejection, provide guidance and handholding support to applicants and facilitate resubmission of eligible cases.
He also instructed officers to launch large-scale awareness campaigns under the Udyam Jagriti 5.0 initiative by involving Mission YUVA Motivators and Yuva Doots across the district.
The campaign, he said, should focus on identifying and mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs, including students and Self-Help Group (SHG) Lakhpati Didis, to promote sustainable self-employment and livelihood opportunities.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Syed Altaf Hussain Musvi, Chief Planning Officer Nisar Ahmad, Assistant Director Employment, Lead District Manager, Career Counselling Officer, coordinators of the Small Business Development Unit (SBDU), Business Help Desks (BHD) and other officials.
Officers associated with Mission YUVA from other districts of Jammu and Kashmir also participated in the meeting through virtual mode.
