Srinagar,: The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday attached properties allegedly accumulated through disproportionate assets by Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat, son of late Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, a resident of Firdousabad Batamaloo, Srinagar, who was posted as Naazir in the office of Deputy Commissioner Srinagar.
The attachment was carried out in connection with FIR No. 09/2025 registered at Police Station ACB Srinagar in a disproportionate assets case.
As per the ACB, the attached properties include a single-storey tin-roofed residential house along with six marlas and 172 square feet of land at Firdousabad Batamaloo, recorded in the name of the accused and his spouse.
The agency said other attached immovable properties include 10 marlas of land at Nambal Mouza Nowgam, recorded in the name of the accused’s daughter, four marlas and 136 square feet of land recorded in the name of the accused’s wife, and eight marlas and 136 square feet of land also recorded in the name of his wife.
The ACB further attached gold articles weighing approximately 1,266 grams, which were seized during the course of investigation.
According to the agency, the case was registered on May 22, 2025, following a secret verification into allegations regarding accumulation of assets disproportionate to known sources of income by Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat.
During the investigation, ACB officials searched the residential premises of the accused and seized items including copper utensils, gold ornaments and other valuables, which were taken into possession as part of the case proceedings. The accused was subsequently arrested and is presently on bail as per court directions.
The ACB said further investigation revealed that the accused had allegedly accumulated movable and immovable assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Following approval from the competent authority, two teams headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police-level officers were constituted to execute the attachment proceedings. The teams carried out the process at Batamaloo and Nowgam after completing all legal formalities.
The agency said signboards were installed at the attached properties for public information and appealed to people not to purchase, sell or exchange the attached house or land.
