The ceremony marked a key milestone in the preparations for the Zoon Run Festival, scheduled to be held on June 28. The event aims to promote fitness, healthy living, youth participation and tourism while showcasing the rich cultural and natural heritage of Baramulla district.

Speaking on the occasion, Hazarika appreciated the efforts of the organising committee and stakeholders for conceptualising a sporting event that combines athletic competition with cultural celebration. He said such initiatives encourage healthy lifestyles among youth and help highlight Baramulla’s tourism potential.

District Information Officer Iftakhar Naseem stressed the importance of community participation and public awareness in ensuring the success of the festival.

Officials said the event has received an enthusiastic response, with more than 800 participants registered so far, including over 250 runners from outside Kashmir, reflecting its growing national appeal.
