SRINAGAR: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir of the Crime Branch, J&K, has filed a chargesheet in a telecom project fraud case before the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sopore.
The chargesheet has been presented in FIR No. 44/2023 registered under Section 420 IPC against Harkeet Singh, a resident of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
According to officials, the case originated from a written complaint alleging that the accused had induced the complainant to part with money on the promise of providing an AT&T inbound sales call project of a US-based telecom company.
During the investigation, EOW Kashmir found that the accused had allegedly deceived the complainant and obtained money through false assurances regarding the project. Investigators said the evidence collected during the probe substantiated the allegations.
Following completion of the investigation, the chargesheet was filed before the competent court for judicial determination of the case.
