TANGMARG: MLA Gulmarg, Farooq Ahmad Shah, on Friday reviewed arrangements for the ongoing Muharram observances in several villages of the constituency and later held a public darbar in Tangmarg to address public grievances and developmental concerns.

During the tour, Shah directed the concerned departments to ensure smooth conduct of Muharram observances and adequate civic arrangements. He instructed the Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Power Development Department (PDD) to maintain uninterrupted water and electricity supply across all areas. He also directed the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department to ensure adequate availability of ration stocks wherever required.

Officials from the PHE, PDD and Rural Development Department accompanied the MLA and reviewed arrangements on the ground while taking note of public issues raised by residents.

Later, Shah chaired a public darbar at Tangmarg, where several delegations and residents from different parts of the Gulmarg constituency apprised him of issues related to civic amenities, public services and developmental works.

The MLA gave a patient hearing to the grievances projected by the residents and assured them that all genuine issues would be taken up on priority with the concerned departments. He reiterated his commitment to responsive governance and equitable development across the constituency.

During the interaction, delegations of NYC employees from various departments also met the MLA and sought his support for the regularisation of their services. They urged him to pursue the matter with the government for an early resolution.

Responding to their concerns, Farooq Ahmad Shah assured the employees that he would take up the issue with the concerned authorities, including the Sports Minister, and seek appropriate consideration of their demand for regularisation.
