Srinagar: Police in Ganderbal have attached a vehicle worth approximately Rs 3.50 lakhs belonging to a “notorious” drug peddler, Arshid Shafi Bhat, under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Police Station Ganderbal.
A police spokesperson informed that during the course of investigation, it was established that the attached vehicle was acquired through proceeds generated from illicit narcotics trafficking and was being used to facilitate drug-related activities.
Acting under the provisions of the NDPS Act, the vehicle has been attached after following due legal procedure. The attachment of illegally acquired property is aimed at dismantling the financial infrastructure of drug peddlers and serves as a strong deterrent against those involved in the narcotics trade, he said.
