I believe in feminism because I believe in myself.
I am a woman, not fragile, not pygmy, and not behind anyone…
People say women are lesser beings. They laugh and poke fun at us. For them our minds are weak. Too weak to comprehend complexities of life. We are too immature, for them, to navigate the maze of life. But look around – who brings human to the world? Who builds a home with love? Who keeps a group together and transforms that into family? Who face regular trails and still care for everyone? Who fights pain, bears unbearable, and still smiles? Answer is simple – a woman.
From cooking food to running companies, from raising children to leading countries – there is nothing she cannot do.
Then why do people call her weak? Who do they try to make her feel small?
A woman is not what society thinks. She is multidisciplinary entity without whom existence of world is unthinkable.
She might be emotional. She may bear wet eyes. She may cry even on small issues. But She is powerful in ways that the world does not always see. Actually, it is a matter of understanding. Those living in ivory towers need to smell a coffee and understand what a woman stands for, and I believe they will realize that what a woman withstands cannot be withstood by them.
I do not need laws to be equal. I was born equal.
I am not meant to be silent but to speak. Like any other believer, I bow down before the Creator only. I was born to rise and to stand tall.
Let the world keep its ideas; we will always keep proving ourselves. We are women; we are not less.
