DG NCC calls on Sakeena Itoo, discusses youth outreach progs in J&K

Srinagar: Virendra Vats on Monday called on Sakeena Itoo and apprised her of various activities and outreach programmes being undertaken by the National Cadet Corps across Jammu and Kashmir.

During the meeting, Lt General Virendra Vats highlighted the role of the NCC in shaping youth through discipline, leadership, patriotism and community service.

He informed the Minister about initiatives aimed at encouraging greater participation of students in NCC activities, particularly in remote and border areas of the Union Territory.

The DG NCC also briefed the Minister about ongoing training programmes, adventure activities, awareness campaigns and social service initiatives being conducted by NCC units in Jammu and Kashmir.

He underscored the organisation’s efforts towards youth empowerment and nation-building by engaging cadets in constructive and character-building activities.

Lt General Virendra Vats also discussed the participation of youth from Jammu and Kashmir in NCC, especially girls and women cadets.

Sakeena Itoo appreciated the contribution of the NCC in nurturing discipline, confidence and a spirit of service among young people.

She lauded the organisation for providing students with opportunities related to personality development, leadership training and national integration.

The Minister assured the Director General of all possible support from the government for carrying out NCC activities and youth welfare programmes across Jammu and Kashmir.

She reiterated the government’s commitment towards supporting initiatives aimed at empowering youth and promoting their holistic development.

Anupinder Bevli was also present during the meeting.
