NIT Srinagar NCC cadets shine at ‘Run with Pride – Run for India’ event

Cadets secure top positions in national-level Unity Run at Srinagar

Srinagar: NCC cadets of National Institute of Technology Srinagar delivered an impressive performance in the “Run With Pride – Run for India” event organised by the NCC Directorate Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh under SNIC Srinagar 2026.

Around 30 NCC cadets from NIT Srinagar participated in the 5-kilometre Unity Run held along Boulevard Road from Nishat Garden to Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre.

The event witnessed participation of nearly 500 NCC cadets from different parts of the country and highlighted the spirit of unity, discipline, patriotism and fitness.

The run was flagged off by Virendra Vats in the presence of senior NCC officials.

Bringing laurels to the institute, Cadet Nikita Kajla secured the first position, while Cadet Sakshi Sharma secured the fifth position in the girls’ category.

Congratulating the cadets, ANO NCC Nitika Kundan said the achievement reflected the dedication and discipline of the institute’s NCC cadets.

Director NIT Srinagar Binod Kumar Kanaujia also congratulated the cadets and said such events promote leadership, fitness and national integration among students.

Registrar Atikur Rehman said NCC activities play a vital role in shaping disciplined and responsible youth while encouraging participation in nation-building initiatives.
