National conclave on Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0 concludes in New Delhi

New Delhi: A two-day national review meeting and conclave on Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0 concluded in New Delhi with deliberations on urban sanitation, waste management and cleanliness initiatives across the country.

Jammu and Kashmir participated in the conclave with a delegation led by Minister for Rural Development, Agriculture Production, Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Election Department Javid Ahmad Dar.

The delegation also included Commissioner Secretary Housing and Urban Development Department Mandeep Kaur and Director Swachh Bharat Mission Urban Devansh Yadav.

During the conclave, discussions were held on key aspects of Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0 including bioremediation of legacy waste, operationalisation of waste processing plants, visible cleanliness in urban areas and promotion of the mission through the concept of “Jan Abhiyaan”.

Ministers, senior officials and representatives from different states and Union Territories shared best practices and successful models being implemented in their respective regions.

The conclave also focused on challenges being faced in implementation of urban sanitation initiatives and explored practical solutions for strengthening waste management systems across the country.

The proposed Solid Waste Management Rules 2026 were also discussed in detail during the sessions, with emphasis on effective implementation in compliance with Supreme Court directions.

Participants reaffirmed their commitment towards achieving the vision of clean, sustainable and garbage-free urban India under Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0.
