Baramulla: MLA Gulmarg Farooq Ahmad Shah on Thursday visited several hailstorm-affected villages in the constituency to assess damage caused to crops and apple orchards.
During the tour, the MLA visited Chichlora, Lalpora, Yal, Somin, Chukar and Baharampura villages and interacted with residents and farmers affected by the recent hailstorm.
He expressed solidarity with the affected families and assured them of full administrative support.
Farooq Ahmad Shah directed concerned officers to conduct a comprehensive village-wise assessment of losses and ensure timely relief and compensation to affected growers and farmers.
He stressed the importance of close coordination among field officials for expediting assistance to hailstorm victims.
Meanwhile, several workers of the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party from different villages joined the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference at a party function held in Kunzer.
Later, the MLA inspected ongoing developmental works in Gulmarg along with officials from the Tourism Department, Roads and Buildings Department and other concerned agencies.
He also chaired a review meeting with officers and directed them to ensure timely completion of all developmental projects.
The MLA assured full cooperation for effective implementation of development works across the constituency.
