Inaugurates school facilities during Gulmarg tour

Baramulla: MLA Gulmarg Farooq Ahmad Shah on Monday conducted an extensive public outreach and developmental tour across various areas of the Gulmarg constituency, during which he inaugurated educational facilities, reviewed development projects and interacted with local residents.

During the visit, the MLA inaugurated Kindergarten and Smart Board facilities at Government Middle School Waripora Dobiwan and stressed the importance of modern educational infrastructure and quality learning opportunities, particularly in rural areas.

He reiterated his commitment towards strengthening the education sector and improving school infrastructure across the constituency.

Shah also reviewed several developmental works proposed under the Viksit Village Programme in consultation with line departments. The proposed projects include development of a playground, open-air gym, market space, public library, Kissan Khidmat Ghar and crèche facilities aimed at improving public amenities and promoting rural development.

Later, the MLA visited Wussan Bangil and inspected the proposed site for a Fruit Mandi project, which is expected to boost horticulture trade and provide better facilities to local fruit growers and traders.

At Tarhama village, several workers from different political parties, including the Apni Party, joined the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference in the presence of the MLA. The new entrants expressed support for the party’s leadership and pledged to strengthen its grassroots presence.

Shah also attended the Gulmarg Guides Recognition and Convention Programme, where he appreciated the role of tourist guides in promoting tourism and showcasing the culture and hospitality of Gulmarg. He assured support for the welfare of tourism workers and the overall tourism sector.

As part of the “Aap Ki Awaaz, Hamari Zimmedari” outreach programme, the MLA later visited Ferozpora village and listened to public grievances and developmental concerns raised by residents.

He assured the people that their genuine issues would be addressed with priority and reaffirmed his commitment towards inclusive development and public welfare across the Gulmarg constituency.
