Srinagar Police in Baramulla arrested three drug peddlers, while in Anantnag, one more person was arrested.
Sharing details, a police spokesperson informed that an auto-rickshaw (JK05P-4047) was intercepted at Nowpora, and 42 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from the driver, Nasir Ahmad Dar’s (resident of Shalteng Sheeri) possession, who was arrested.
Another vehicle (JK01AX-2828) was intercepted in the same area and approximately 56 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from the possession of Faizan Farooq Rather of Wagoora, and Mohammad Yaseen Khanday of Warpora Tangmarg, travelling in it. Both were arrested.
In Handwara, police recovered Spasmo-Proxyvon Plus capsules from the possession of Mudasir Ahmad Dar, resident of Badkoot, who was also arrested.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for further investigations, police said.
Police also informed that as part of investigations into previous case (concerning recovering of 110 Kg marijuana) registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Police Station Srigufwara, the second accused identified as Abdul Rashid Bhat of Shitipura, “involved in the transportation of a huge quantity of narcotic substance”, was arrested at Shalgam Crossing.
