Over 170 JKAS officers transferred in major J&K reshuffle

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Wednesday ordered a major reshuffle in the administration, transferring and posting over 170 Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officers across departments with immediate effect.

According to Government Order No. 855-JK(GAD) of 2026 issued by the General Administration Department, the changes were carried out in the interest of the administration.

Several senior officers have been assigned key positions. Asif Hamid Khan has been posted as Secretary, Jal Shakti Department, while Smita Sethi has been appointed Managing Director of the J&K Housing Board. Manzoor Ahmad Qadri has been named Managing Director of the J&K Financial Corporation and Mohammad Rafi posted as Director General, Libraries.

Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza has been appointed Member of the J&K Special Tribunal, while Rubina Kousar will serve as Mission Director, ICPS/Vatsalya. Mushtaq Ahmad has been posted as Director, Estates Jammu, and Mukhtar Ahmed Chowdhary has been placed awaiting adjustment in the General Administration Department.

Among other key postings, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar has been given charge of Managing Director, SIDCO, with additional charge of SICOP, while Mufti M. Farid-ud-Din has been appointed Director of SKICC.

Reyaz Ahmad Wani will serve as Director, Rural Development (Kashmir). Mohammad Younis Malik has been appointed Director of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute.

The order also includes several appointments at the level of Special Secretaries and Directors across departments such as Planning, Housing and Urban Development, Tourism, Power Development, and Agriculture Production.

Khurshid Ahmad Sanai has been posted as Secretary of the J&K Services Selection Board, while Pankaj Raj Katoch has been appointed Director, Panchayati Raj, and Pawan Kumar Sharma as Director, Geology and Mining.

In addition, Tassaduq Hussain Mir has been posted as Custodian General, and Shabir Hussain Bhat appointed Vice-Chairman of the Srinagar Development Authority.
