Srinagar: The Kashmir Police has promoted 1,785 personnel to the next ranks following a Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting chaired by IGP Kashmir V.K. Birdi.
The promotions include 300 Head Constables (HCs), 1,020 Selection Grade Constables (SgCts), and 465 Constables. As per the approved list, Head Constables have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), Selection Grade Constables to Head Constable, and Constables to Selection Grade Constable.
Officials said the promotions were cleared after assessing the eligibility and service records of the personnel.
IGP Kashmir V.K. Birdi congratulated the promoted officials and their families, expressing hope that they would continue to serve with dedication and professionalism. He emphasized the importance of maintaining public peace, tranquillity, and law and order across the Union Territory.
