Srinagar: Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across several parts of Kashmir over the coming days to facilitate maintenance of transmission lines.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, the shutdown of the 33 kV Budgam–Ichgam and Budgam–Kremshore lines will disrupt electricity supply to Ichgam, Ichkoot, Choon, Barwah, Kanir, Dadaompora, Hushur, Wagam, Zuhama, Hanjoora, Old Kremshore, Arigam, Nunner, Shamsabad, Brenwar, Sursyar, Dreygam, Arampora, Shinipora, Yarikhah (essential), Khansahib, Raithan and adjoining areas from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on April 29, 2026.
Similarly, power supply to Achabal, Shangus, Nowgam, Cherpora and adjoining areas will remain affected due to shutdown of the 33 kV Achabal–Cherpora Tapline from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on April 29 and May 2, 2026.
The shutdown of the 33 kV Shamsipora Tapline will impact Shamsipora, Sudsanoo, Turka, Tachloo and adjoining areas from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on April 29, 2026.
In central Kashmir, the 33 kV Alusteng–Nagbal and Alusteng–Zakura lines will undergo shutdown, affecting Shuhama, Bakura, Darend, Nagbal, Fatehpora, Gadoora, Tulbagh, Chunduna, Saloora, Shairpathri, Pandach, Pathan Colony, Gulabagh, Mir Mohalla, Umarhair, Nowbugh, Ahmad Nagar, 90 ft Road, Khalmullah and adjoining areas from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on April 29 and May 2, 2026.
Meanwhile, in north Kashmir, the shutdown of the 33 kV Handwara–Hot line will affect Handwara town, Kulangam, Chogal, Pohrupeth, Wadpora, Kultura, Marathgam and adjoining areas from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on April 30, 2026.
Further, the 33 kV Wanpoh–Qazigund line shutdown will impact Mir Bazar, Vessu, Industrial Estate area, town areas, Waltengoo, YK Pora, Nussu, Chowgam, Manzmoh, Colony, Railway area and adjoining localities from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on May 2, 2026.
Additionally, the shutdown of the 33 kV Mattan–Kawarigam line will affect Kheribal, Kawarigam, Ranipora, Dethoo and adjoining areas from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on May 2, 2026.
Residents in the affected areas have been advised to take necessary precautions during the scheduled outages.
