BANDIPORA: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Sonawari, Hilal Akbar Lone, on Thursday laid the foundation stones for several key infrastructure projects in the Ajas area of Bandipora district.
The projects include the construction of a motorable bridge over Baji Khul at an estimated cost of ₹48.89 lakh, construction of a Tehsil Office at ₹70.16 lakh, and construction of a Niabat Office at ₹15 lakh.
The proposed motorable bridge is expected to significantly improve connectivity to areas that currently remain unconnected, thereby benefiting a large section of the population. Meanwhile, the construction of dedicated buildings for the Tehsil and Niabat offices is aimed at addressing the existing constraint of functioning from rented accommodations, which is expected to enhance administrative efficiency and improve public service delivery.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Lone reiterated his commitment to strengthening infrastructure and ensuring better governance at the grassroots level.
The MLA was accompanied by the Executive Engineer R&B Sumbal, Tehsildar Ajas, and Assistant Executive Engineer R&B Sumbal, along with other concerned officials.
