BANDIPORA: MLA Bandipora, Advocate Nizamuddin Bhat, today visited NM Government Boys Higher Secondary School (GBHSS), where he participated in the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) pledge and awareness programme organized by the school.

Attending the event as Chief Guest, MLA was accorded a warm welcome by the school administration and students. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students taking a pledge to work towards building a drug-free society.

An alumnus of the institution, Advocate Nizamuddin Bhat turned nostalgic as he shared memories of his student life. He fondly recalled his school days and spoke about several notable personalities who were once his classmates. He described the school as one of the most prestigious institutions in the district, appreciating its consistent legacy of academic excellence.

In his address, MLA delivered an inspiring message, urging students to remain disciplined, focused, and committed to their goals while actively participating in social causes, particularly the fight against drug abuse.

On the occasion, he announced financial assistance for the school’s development, including Rs 2 lakh for furniture, Rs 1 lakh for the construction of a girls’ toilet, and Rs 50,000 for sports facilities. He further extended support by donating an interactive panel board worth Rs 1.5 lakh on the spot to strengthen digital learning infrastructure.

The Principal, Reyaz Ahmad Lone, expressed sincere gratitude to the MLA for his continued support towards the institution’s growth and development.
