Srinagar: The Department of Physical Education of Government College of Education, M.A. Road, on Monday organised an intra-mural tournament in badminton and volleyball for students and staff at the college’s multipurpose hall.
Principal Seema Naz inaugurated the event in the presence of the Convenor, Sports, Mohd Yasin.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from students belonging to different streams, creating a vibrant and competitive atmosphere on the campus.
The event was organised with the objective of promoting physical fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship among the participants.
In the volleyball final, the undergraduate team put up an impressive performance and defeated the B.Ed first-semester team by 2-0 sets to clinch the title.
In the badminton final, the undergraduate pair of Mohsin and Zubaid emerged victorious after defeating A.B. Rehman and Mohd. Ashraf of the B.Ed third-semester team.
The winning pair displayed excellent coordination and skill during the match.
The tournament concluded in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and sportsmanship, with participants and organisers describing the event as a successful effort to encourage greater involvement in sports and physical activity.
