MENDHAR: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, on Monday inaugurated a Community Facilitation Centre (CFC) at Mankote and inspected the under-construction Sports Stadium during a public outreach visit to the area.

The CFC, constructed by the Rural Development Department at a cost of Rs. 17 lakh, is aimed at strengthening the grassroots governance and service delivery by bringing multiple public services and community activities under one roof.

“The present administration is making all endeavours to extend necessary services to the people at their doorsteps and setting up of CFCs in the remote areas is a part of these initiatives,” Javed Rana said while addressing the locals after inaugurating the CFC.

The Minister also inspected the ongoing construction of the Sports Stadium at Mankote, being developed at an estimated cost of Rs. 58 lakh. He directed the executing agencies to ensure timely completion with strict adherence to the set quality standards.

During the visit, several delegations and individuals called on the Minister and projected various development-related issues.

A delegation of students from the Government Degree College Mendhar submitted a memorandum highlighting the concerns regarding the need for a girls’ hostel and a multi-purpose hall.

The Minister gave a patient hearing to the delegations and assured them that their genuine demands would be examined on priority for appropriate action.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to balanced and inclusive development, the Minister said that strengthening infrastructure and addressing the public grievances remain key priorities to ensure improved facilities and opportunities for the people of the region

Meanwhile, Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, visited Chhote Shah Government Degree College Mendhar, where he conducted a detailed review of the institution’s infrastructure and facilities being extended to the students and the staff.

He interacted with the faculty to assess the status of the academic and administrative needs and services.

During the inspection, the Minister took stock of critical gaps in the existing facilities and directed for identifying the upgradation requirements so the same can be addressed at the earliest. He counted the government initiatives being implemented to strengthen the academic institutions in remote and border areas. The focus of the administration is on enhancing the infrastructure, expanding the resources and fostering a more enabling environment for the students, he added.

During his visit, the Minister also met with the delegation of academic arrangement faculty who submitted a memorandum outlining their concerns related to salary structure, designation and overall service conditions.

The Minister assured the delegation that their legitimate issues would be taken up with the concerned authorities for timely and appropriate action.

The Minister said the progress of institutions like GDC Mendhar remains central to the government’s broader vision of equitable access to quality education across the region.
