Srinagar: Police in Anantnag have detained a notorious forest smuggler under the provisions of the Public Safety Act (PSA).
The accused, identified as Adil Ahmad Padder alias “Pushpa”, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Padder, a resident of Larnoo, has been detained following the issuance of a detention order by the District Magistrate Anantnag.
The said individual is a “habitual offender” and has been involved in multiple cases related to timber smuggling, posing a serious threat to forest resources and environmental sustainability in the region. Acting on the detention order, police executed the warrant and subsequently lodged the accused at the District Jail Udhampur.
