JDA retrieves 8 kanal encroached land in Nagrota, Sidhra

Jammu: The Jammu Development Authority on Wednesday carried out an anti-encroachment drive at Nagrota and Sidhra areas of Jammu and retrieved around eight kanals of land.

The drive was conducted at Rathore Dhok (Dhok Waziran) in Nagrota and at Sidhra near the security headquarters with the support of the district administration.

At Rathore Dhok, the JDA demolished one unauthorised structure along with plinths and retrieved nearly three kanal of land belonging to the authority.

Similarly, five unauthorised permanent structures were demolished at Sidhra, resulting in the retrieval of around five kanal of encroached land.

In all, approximately eight kanals of JDA land were reclaimed during the operation.

Officials said the drive was conducted under the direction of Rupesh Kumar and was carried out smoothly with the assistance of the district administration and JDA enforcement teams.

The JDA said it would continue such anti-encroachment drives in future to protect public land and ensure its proper utilisation.
