DC Bla presides over Block Diwas Programme at Kanispora

BARAMULLA: To listen to the suggestions for the development plans, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, S F Hamid, today presided over Block Diwas programme at Panchayat Ghar Kanispora Baramulla.

During the programme, the general public raised several demands and grievances, including water scarcity issues in the block, upgradation of the drainage network, staff shortage at PHC Delina, improvement of roads leading to orchards in various villages, regular sanitation in the area, and enhancement of local school infrastructure, among other issues, urging the DC to intervene for their prompt resolution.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC assured the public and their representatives that all their genuine issues and demands raised during the Block Diwas would be taken up on priority for swift redressal.

The DC while patiently hearing the grievances raised by the public, directed all concerned officers to submit a detailed report on the issues highlighted during the Block Diwas to his office at the earliest.

Meanwhile, the DC directed the ACD to ensure that Gram Sabhas are held on a monthly basis so that issues and demands of the people pertaining to any panchayat are effectively discussed and taken up for prompt redressal.

Furthermore, the DC directed the officers to conduct comprehensive awareness campaigns about various beneficiary schemes including HADP, Mission YUVA and others at the grassroots level to ensure that people are well informed and able to avail the benefits.

The program was attended by the Superintending Engineer R&B/PMGSY/PDD, Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, along with all the concerned district and sectoral officers, PRIs and residents from Kanispora and adjoining villages.
