Srinagar: Day temperatures across Jammu and Kashmir remained several degrees above normal on Wednesday, while no rainfall was recorded in most parts of the Union Territory, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

As per the IMD’s evening bulletin, Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 20.5 degrees Celsius, 7.5 degrees above normal, while the minimum settled at 4.2 degrees Celsius, 1.7 degrees above normal.

Qazigund registered a high of 22.0 degrees Celsius, 9.4 degrees above normal, and a low of 2.2 degrees Celsius. Pahalgam recorded a maximum of 18.9 degrees Celsius, 8.9 degrees above normal, while the minimum dipped to minus 0.1 degrees Celsius.

Kupwara recorded a high of 19.8 degrees Celsius, 7.3 degrees above normal, while Kokernag registered 20.6 degrees Celsius, 9.4 degrees above normal. Gulmarg, the ski resort, recorded a maximum of 12.6 degrees Celsius, 9.1 degrees above normal, and a minimum of 2.0 degrees Celsius.

In the Jammu division, the winter capital recorded a maximum of 30.3 degrees Celsius, 6.0 degrees above normal, and a minimum of 14.3 degrees Celsius. Banihal registered a high of 24.6 degrees Celsius, 9.8 degrees above normal, while Batote recorded 25.3 degrees Celsius, 10.7 degrees above normal.

Katra recorded a maximum of 29.6 degrees Celsius, 7.7 degrees above normal, and Bhaderwah settled at 25.4 degrees Celsius, 9.1 degrees above normal.

The IMD said no rainfall was recorded in the past 24 hours in most stations across the Union Territory. Relative humidity at 5:30 pm stood at 43 per cent in Srinagar and 43 per cent in Jammu. (KNO)
